FIXED RATE PER THERM OPTION
THE BASICS
Your monthly commodity price per therm stays the same for the whole term.
HOW IT WORKS
Your commodity price is set at the time of sale. Your bill is based on the commodity price that was set at the time of the sale multiplied by the total therms used each month.
WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU
Natural gas market price changes won't affect your commodity charge on your bill. Your bill will change month to month based on your monthly usage. You only pay for what you use each month.
WINTERGUARD MONTHLY BILL OPTION
THE BASICS
Your monthly bills stays the same every month for the whole term.
HOW IT WORKS
Regardless of the natural gas market fluctuations or your natural gas usage, your bill will not change.
WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU
Simplify your budget knowing your bill will remain the same each month for the duration of your term.
MARKET INDEX RATE OPTION
THE BASICS
Your commodity price will be set each month on the floating natural gas market plus a fixed adder per therm for the whole term.
HOW IT WORKS
Your commodity bill is calculated using the monthly natural gas index price plus a fixed adder per therm, multiplied by the total therms used each month.
WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU
With this option your commodity rate can increase due to rising natural gas market prices, but you can also enjoy the benefit of decreasing natural gas market prices.
BLENDED SMART RATE OPTION
THE BASICS
Not sure if you want Fixed or Index pricing? The Blended option is the best of both worlds.
HOW IT WORKS
Your commodity price is split 50-50. Half your usage is billed on the Fixed price and half is billed on the Market Index price plus a fixed adder per therm.
WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU
With this option, half your usage is protected from variability in natural gas costs, and with the other half you can take advantage of any decreasing natural gas market costs.

Black Hills Energy Services is a tightknit group dedicated to service our customers and communities. Beyond our 5 decades of experience in the energy industry, we have more than 30 years combined experience in the Choice Gas program.
Renae
Renae has worked in the Choice Gas program for more than 20 years. Born and raised in Elm Creek, Nebraska, she understands customers' concerns — and that the small towns we serve are the backbone of Choice Gas. Whether she's helping farmers get the best deal for their irrigation needs or customers save money during the cold winter months, Renae is ready to lend a hand with kindness and cheer. "When someone calls and has a big problem, I love helping them get to the bottom of it and get it solved and knowing they're walking away happy and with their needs taken care of," says Renae.
Tracey
Tracey is a lifetime Nebraska resident. After growing up in Gibbon and raising her family in Amherst, Tracey understands the needs of small-town communities. As the newest BHES team member, Tracey is looking forward to building relationships with our customers as well as helping grow our business. She’s excited to go the extra mile for the customers and she can’t wait to get to know you and lend a helping hand.
Penny
Penny is a long time Kearney, Nebraska, resident with a love for her home state and the Midwest. She’s proud of the hard-working people with strong work ethics, integrity and a helpfulness toward others. It’s those qualities that she exemplifies with an open line of communication between clients, customers, and business with a cheerful “can-do” approach. With over 40 years in sales, she knows it’s important to listen and provide support to customers. Penny is committed along with Black Hills Energy Services to serve both customers and communities.

BHES, as a competitive supplier of natural gas commodity is not provided any advantages or preferences due to its corporate affiliation with Black Hills Wyoming Gas, LLC and Black Hills Nebraska Gas, LLC. Although the names of each legal entity are similar, the service provided by Black Hills Energy Services (i.e. non-regulated competitive natural gas commodity supplier) and Black Hills Energy (i.e. regulated utility service - Choice Gas Administrator) are totally separate.
